Known Issues - Recording in Windows Issue
Windows users that have updated QuickTime beyond version 7.3 will
not be able to successfully record audio. Work-around:
Don’t update QuickTime or wait for a Canvastic/QuickTime update.
You can downgrade your copy of QuickTime if you have already updated
beyond 7.3.1
To check which version of QuickTime you have installed (PC):
- Start the QuickTime player application
- Select the 'Help' menu, then 'About QuickTime Player'
- This will show you the version number
This solution applies to QuickTime version 7.0.0 and above for
PC (Windows).
Please note, downgrading the QuickTime plugin may effect other software
running on your machine. If your computer is on a network, please
check with your network administrator before following these instructions.
First you need to uninstall the present QuickTime software from
your system:
- Click on the 'Start' button
- Select 'Settings' and 'Control Panel'
- Open 'Add or remove programs' in XP, or select Programs and
click uninstall a program in Vista
- Scroll down the list to 'QuickTime'
- Click 'Remove'
- This will uninstall the current QuickTime installation
Next download and run the QuickTime 7.3.1 installer from the Apple
website. www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime731forwindows.html
Reboot your computer
This will install QuickTime 7.3.1 on your system.
Canvastic's recording should be restored. We will post an update
when the issue with QuickTime's current issue is resolved.
Canvastic cannot be held responsible for any adverse effects this
may have on your system or network.
