Background...

Displays a dialog box that lets you choose a background color or picture for your document's Background layer (see the Layers section). Click the Select... button to choose a graphics file for display on the background layer. Most common graphics formats can be used as backgrounds as well as Canvastic documents. Windows requires that you choose the format of the image you want to use when selecting it. There is a "Files of Type:" menu in the dialog box. The images that ship with Canvastic are in png format.

The background layer sits behind the object and paint layers. Although it may be hidden and shown, its contents may not be changed by any of the paint or object tools.

Canvastic ships with a folder of background images named backgrounds to get you started. Feel free to add your own. See the Layers section for more information about the Background layer.
