Edit Menu

Undo

Reverses the last action. This item may be selected many times to "move back in time" through the creation of your document.

Note:Teaching students the keyboard shortcut Command Z (Mac) or CTRL Z (Windows) can be very valuable.

 

Redo

Reverses the last Undo action. If you undo an action, you can redo it (to restore the document to its state just prior to the undo) by selecting this menu item.

Note: Teaching students the keyboard shortcut Command Y (Mac) or CTRL Y (Windows) can be very valuable.

 

Cut

Removes a selected area or object from the canvas and transfers it to the clipboard for later pasting.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

 

Copy

Transfers a copy of a selected area or object to the clipboard for later pasting.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

 

Paste

Inserts the graphical contents of the clipboard into the front most Canvastic document.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

 

Duplicate

Creates a duplicate copy in your canvas of a selected area or object.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

Teaching students the keyboard shortcut Command D(Mac) or CTRL D(Windows) can be very valuable.

 

Clear or Delete

Removes or deletes the selected area or object from the canvas. This command is Clear in Macintosh and Delete in Windows.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

 

Select All

If a paint tool is selected, this menu item will create a selection area that includes the entire area of the paint layer. If an object tool is selected, this menu item will select every object on the object layer.

Note: This command is also available by control-clicking or right-clicking on the canvas.

 

Preferences...

Displays the Preference window that allows you to customize the Canvastic interface and functions. Click here for more information about preferences.
This menu item appears under the Canvastic menu in Mac OS X.
